ICHA DOCTRINES AND PRINCIPLES
1) Everyone has a Dream; a purpose to fulfill—a unique path to express their life that contributes to the shared human Dream of “Love in a Peaceful World"
2) We acknowledge and respect all cultural and religious traditions. "One Truth many Paths" -Swami Satchidananda 3) Similarly to the amniotic sac that protected the developing physical body of the fetus in the womb, the body is a protective covering that houses the developing human spirit /soul. 4) ICHA maintains that personal HEALTH of Body Mind Spirit is the single most important tool we have to fulfill our dreams while developing higher consciousness. 5) Creating Vital Health is accomplished by improving our life through PHYSICAL( e.g. exercise, nutrition, sleep) EMOTIONAL (e.g. enhancing relationships through feeling and expressing our emotions) and SPIRITUAL (making decisions that move us closer to our Life Purpose/Dreams) activities. 6) Integrating our Lives with the forces of nature through activities that sustain the planet (organic agriculture, spending time in communion with clean air, water and people of like mind who nourish our mother earth) enhances individual, community and planetary health. 7) Our personal choices attract life circumstances that are absolutely perfect. Our work requests that members are willing to assume accountability for their life by assuming “Response Ability” to any and all life circumstances. Circumstances occur be cause of choices we have made. We Be the Cause of our Life Path and Ultimate Destiny. | 8) Every circumstance is an opportunity to improve and enrich our lives. It is important to stop judging, and instead, exercise kindness and forgiveness to our selves and any “other” that has participated in the creation of our life circumstances. Feeling and circulating the physical sensations generated from life circumstances will lead us to experience Gratitude - the graceful attitude, the silver lining in every cloud.
9) We have the skills necessary to transform every challenge into a soul enhancing experience. We utilize healthy food, vital respiration through “CHI/PRANA” cultivation exercises, meditation and honest communicative relationships as a source of energy and wisdom. 10) Reverence for Life + Feelings + Thoughts + Actions = Beneficial Change. When our will is fueled by the reverent power of our feelings, thoughts, words and all our actions create transformation that affects us at the root of our existence. In turn, every branch of our physical, mental and spiritual growth is also affected. Reverence maintains that our personal changes will nourish others as well as ourselves. 11) Intuition is the force that will guide us in making life-improving decisions. We call on courage, trust and love for all beings to motivate our knowing of how to feel the awareness of deep genuine truths. Developing our Intuition allows healthy choices and the understanding of our life lessons to surface in our consciousness. Intuitive answers move us closer to the well being of our body mind spirit. We share this consciousness with all beings and is so doing affect the harmony of life on the planet. 12) We recognize silence as the mother and breath as the father that when united harmoniously create the myriad of actions that motivate all humans to become peaceful inhabitants of the universe. |
Literature
Many books from interfaith disciplines are studied including Taoism, Zen, Quantum Physics texts, Religious content from Buddhist, Christian, Hebrew, Ayurvedic and Native American backgrounds and Seymour Koblin's Books; Shaping our Destiny, Food for Life and the Art of Zen-Touch™ are some of our most popularly used texts.
Form of Spiritual Practice
Being Present or placing our attention to honoring the moment is cultivated through sitting meditation. This practice of sitting quietly and calming the mind while breathing deeply is the primary form of spiritual practice that is extended to walking, exercise and all daily activities.
Basis for Practices and Doctrines
Many interfaith practices are utilized including but not limited to Taoism, Buddhism, Zen, and Unified field theory. Members are encouraged to integrate the many techniques taught into a personal expression of daily devoted practice that enhances individual and group consciousness.
